My almost 17 yr old has just come into my room while I was getting ready for bed and told me what a great mum I am. He's been with friends tonight, two of which had a 'massive rant' about their mums and he said it made him realise how great I am.

I am strict about certain things (curfew, where he goes and who with, jobsat home), but I always pick him up from his friends' houses, take his mates home too and feed anyone who crosses our threshold.

After a long and expensive day (car troubles) that's put a massive smile on my face and made all the nagging and grunts worthwhile. :-)

His dad doesn't live with us so I've no one else to tell.

PS. Why do teens ALWAYS want to chat when you're hanging with tiredness?!

You should be so proud of him and yourself, sounds like you have a great relationship.
