My 13 year old son has a girlfriend

My 13 year old son has been friends with a girl for a couple of years now. She's a lovely girl and they both get on really well. She's recently had a falling out with her mum. They've grown a bit closer the last couple of months and the other day my son asked if she could come over. I agreed and then today they went out for the day and had a great time by the sounds. It seems they're now girlfriend/boyfriend as I saw them kissing as she left our house. I talked to him afterwards and laid down some ground rules and spoke about sex. He's a good lad and definitely didn't like the sex talk. Is there anything else I should do?

Hi, I am in the same position and just
wondered how out
worked out for you?

My ds is nearly 14 and has had a girlfriend since July. I've told him not to take it all too serious and make sure he still bothers and hangs out with his friends. I've told him not to do anything he doesn't want to do. I know they're growing up, but they're still so young, and I don't want him thinking this is the be all and end all. I've been really open and my son tends to tell me a lot at the moment, so hopefully he knows he can come to me with anything. So I would say try and keep the channel of communication open.

I didn't realise this was a post from last year 😳
