Parents Sharing teenager expenses

Hello

thinking about how parents (not together) are agreeing to share college expenses ie: lunch for their teenagers??

also, what is a reasonable amount monthly or weekly to give a teenager for lunch whilst at college?

Does the RP get CM? Our teens got 5.00 day which means they could get a meal deal and a snack/drink at break.

Yes the RP does get CM each month. But does not want to use that to cover the lunch expense as it probably covers another expense ie: house shopping.

there isn’t a issue to allow additional finance to cover the lunch expenses but it would be good to know how parents agree on how to do that and what is reasonable..

£5 a day and if they want anything over that/non standard the DC pay themselves out of wages/pocket money.

If money isn't a problem then one of you just needs to pay it (which I think is what your OP means). Presumably there was some agreement/payment when DC was at school covering lunch money - so that again really for College/6th form.

The other parent could then pay for things like books/paper/transport/sport/ clubs/ trips etc to a similar amount.

It would be nice if the other parent contributed / paid pocket money to the child directly but most will say they pay CM so shouldn't have too. If a meal deal where you live is £5 then it would be nice if they gave that. The chances are that the RP is paying out substantially more than the NRP for incidentals as well as routine costs.

If RP cant afford to give child lunch money child can take lunch from home or get a job like many teens.
