He usually wears camo / dark stuff, trackie bums and hoodies. His mums says he likes the "mugger" look!

Or Lego as usual? From family reports his behaviur is getting more "teenage" recently.

You know if I ever bought my DS clothes for his birthday from us, he'd be pretty miffed. BUT he LOVES getting clothes from other people. So go for it... not sure if H&M do gift receipts, but ask in case and he can always change it. H&M would be a safe bet IME.

the only clothes I can think of that would be appreciated by my 11 y.o. and his friends would be sports tops - i.e. footie or rugby shirts depending on what his sport is

my ds (11) won't touch H&M clothes with a barge pole - he hates all those logos/graffiti typography etc - on the other hand he had a long wish list of lego for his birthday ;-)

avenanap · 14/04/2008 23:42

My ds is 9. He has told me (repeatedly) that he has a feeling of overwhelming disappointment when he is given clothes as a present. He hates it. He also hates clothes shopping of any sort.

hmm I need to get a 10 yr old boy a gift,I have no idea what to get.
ANy ideas for about £20?

avenanap · 14/04/2008 23:47

Nintendo ds game. Lego. HMV gift card.

brimfull · 14/04/2008 23:50

oh right thanks do they still play lego at that age?

Clary · 14/04/2008 23:59

DS2 who is just 5 got a couple of T-shirts from pals this b/day which I thought were really nice - esp the one from H&M.

He liked them too

Or how about itunes voucher or similar?

avenanap · 15/04/2008 00:01

Lego is for all ages. Depends on the kid though.

mumeeee · 15/04/2008 20:14

H&M do gift cards. My girls love getting gift vouchers for clothes shops. But I know my 11 year lod nephew likes money.hmv vouchers or science type craft things. EG build your own volcans or crystal radio.
He would not want clothes.

fizzbuzz · 15/04/2008 21:27

My ds gets seriously pissed off if he gets clothes for birthdays. This started at age 5 when he objected to getting pj's .

I think a gift voucher for HMV or something would be better. Not clothes...definitely not clothes

OrangeKnickers · 16/04/2008 12:06

arrrrhhhh I see. OK I think I will go with an HMV voucher this time and ask him if he'd want clothes next time. I don't see the kid very often and it's difficult to really see what he likes apart from computer games.....but don't know which ones he's got, but vouchers would solve that too. Plan!
