Period swimwear for daughter

My daughter has a school trip to a water park and will be on her period. She is desperate to go as all her friends are. Has anyone tried period swimwear for their daughter? Any recommendations?

Honestly just get her some tampons, period underwear in my experience is just rubbish and more often than not leaks through

I've just collected a modibody swimsuit (£35) I ordered for my daughter from John Lewis. Looks great, no obvious bulging.

I use wuka period pants. Have just taken delivery of their swim pants but haven't had an opportunity to try them yet. I've never had a leak in the 3 years I've been using the regular period pants

My DD used the Wuka bikini bottoms under a standard boy-leg swimsuit (kind of vintage style), and that was ok. However, I wouldn’t have felt confident in her just wearing them. As soon as you’re out of the water it’s a countdown to getting them off before they start to seep, IME. I would really encourage her to get confident with tampons. My DD is autistic and would probably really struggle with tampons, otherwise I wouldn’t have bothered.

I got my daughter bikini bottoms from primark for a recent holiday. They were super absorbent and she didn’t have any issues. Think they were only £6 each

We have tried a few, the best by far is Modibody. They fit well and look great. I agree with the comment about them not being absorbent once out of the water , it’s fine for a while, eg between water rides. When it’s lunch time or just having time out of the water, she will need to change into her regular period protection and then put her swimsuit on again ready for the water. We did buy two as we were going away and they are not the cheapest of items. Saying that, they have worked well and my DD feels confident wearing them. We will get a second holiday out of them this year so actually not so bad. We did size up as the comments on line said they come up small.
