Teen Going On Holiday - Bikini Line Advice

Hi, looking for advice. What’s the best method of hair removal for a 14 year old for her bikini line. No allergies or anything, just not sure if waxing is appropriate / ok for that age and if another option might be better. Thanks

Shorts are a better option IMO

Twilightstarbright · 13/06/2024 20:41

Hair removal cream? Waxing might be painful.

2orangey · 13/06/2024 20:41

Can't she wear a swimming costume with 'shorts' style legs, something like this:

Waxing is painful but I think I d been doing it for 3 years by 14. Most of us did at school.

Lokshen · 13/06/2024 20:45

What does she want? Some teenagers would be mortified even at the thought of waxing done by a professional, others would love to feel 'grown up'. I think hair removal cream is probably a good option, and if you are away for longer can easily be done again on hols

Immac or shorts?

Allthislovelygreen · 13/06/2024 20:52

What do you use yourself OP?

Rainyblue · 13/06/2024 21:01

I got DD a Philips bikini line electric trimmer. I think waxing would be too painful at that age.

Teenie22 · 13/06/2024 21:24

Thanks all, I was thinking of hair removal cream and daughter mentioned that too- I thought waxing works be too brutal at that age - will go for that, thanks!

No options worked for me, dark course hair and sensitive skin means a rash with any attempt on the bikini line, tankini is an easier option. Decathlon do good coverage ones but I'm sure you can get something trendier.

whynosummer · 13/06/2024 21:37

Does it actually show with the swimsuit she wants to wear, or are you pre-empting any worries? Worth being sure, because whereas my bikini line clearly wants to find out what life is like mid thigh 😡 my teens don’t seem to have any issues.

I found immac easiest in my teens.

Passthecake30 · 14/06/2024 07:03

I told my daughter to shave any stray bits with the razor she uses for her arm pits.

GoldViper · 14/06/2024 07:04

🤔

Good question. I still wear a bikini (although I probably shouldn't...) and I've never shaved or waxed my bikini line. I also have short/matching tank shorts I sometimes wear over mine (although your daughter doesn't have to hide a muffin top like me!).

Some of the current fashion styles don't help, personally I don't think bikinis need to be cut so they're showing your public area at the front. And I'm not a prude but I won't get started on the current penchant for wedgies with your arse cheeks on full display.
