Concerned about son's mental and physical health

My son will soon be 15. He's always been the anxious type, everything worries him and stresses him. He's not very social and only feels comfortable at home talking to his friends online or playing games. He's been a quite healthy kid so we are a bit worried now. Since December, he gets ill every 3-4 weeks. It's always the same virus: headache, pain in joints and muscles, runny nose and sore throat. He stays at home 2-3 days and then he's fine again and the story repeats 3 or 4 weeks later. I never worry about a common cold but in this case it is the frequency that worries me, and also the fact that he misses 2-3 school days so often. We had to cancel holidays twice in the past months and we are afraid to go anywhere as he always gets ill. He eats a lot and very healthy, he is skinny but so is his dad. He sleeps well and he is doing very well in school so we can't find a reason for those constant illnesses. His doctor always dismisses us so we really don't know what to do.

Can stress weaken his immune system so much? Maybe there is something we are overlooking...

Has he had blood tests? I had the experience (with a younger child) that they caught a virus and then couldn’t build themselves back up after it and continued getting sick for months. And yes stress lowers your immune system. Does he get enough fresh air and exercise if he loves being at home?

So it could be something like that but I think I would want blood tests.
