should my DD study french or spanish?

My DD is stuck between French and Spanish and asked for my advice. She is much better at French but dislikes it, having more liking for Spanish and is determined to catch up

Far more people in the world speak Spanish. She can go to Latin America

What level is she at? Chosing options in year 9? Chosing A levels? Will help people give advice.

DD had the exact same conundrum, except the other way round! Hated Spanish but was really good at it, not so strong at French but had always preferred it.

I think that she should go for the one that she enjoys most. It’ll be less of a chore to study and therefore more motivation to improve. DD ended up following her heart and going with French - with a good teacher she really excelled and achieved an 8/A grade. No regrets!
