DS is 14 soon and we’ve been very lucky in that we’ve been able to keep social media usage to a minimum with him until now, he only really uses WhatsApp and texts on his phone, so everything has been relatively easy to monitor until now. However, he’s really wanting Snapchat and discord for chatting etc. I’m okay ish with this although Snapchat is horrible and I’d rather not, but he’s sensible and we’ve had various chats and he knows his phone is checked occasionally. To help I’d like some software just so things are being monitored in the background and I can go in and have a look if there is a problem or perhaps something that screens / flags up trigger words etc, especially for Snapchat where the chats disappear.
Does anybody have any paid monitoring Apps they use and can recommend for an IPhone? We’ve had a few incidents like coming home with no glasses or PE shoes and then never being seen again etc., so just like to keep an eye on that and make sure there isn’t any bullying and it’s just carelessness. Also the post about Sextortion on here frightened the life out of me as I’m aware of a similar issue at DS school where posted photos were screenshot and sent around the school.
