Hi

Just wondering if many of your teens are riding solo in the mornings? I leave for work 4 mornings a week before my Son is awake.

He has to get up and ready for school alone.

Just feeling major Mum guilt and considering looking for a new job.

I've asked him and he says he's not bothered, he always leaves on time but I'd love to be there to help him check he has correct stuff, perhaps make breakfast etc.

He has just turned 15.

What do other single parents do?

He’s 15, not 5 - he absolutely does not need you to check his bag or make breakfast for goodness sake! Don’t quit your job over a total non-issue

You are being daft....he's 15.

If you are bothered you can check his bag the night before and leave some food on the table before you leave in the morning.

I'm still in bed whilst DD16 gets herself ready and out every day and have done since she was in high school. The same thing really. I'm not a single parent but I don't have to be up until 8pm. Independence does them so good IMO.

Thanks for replies, I forgot to add that I'm also not home until 5.30 so he leaves an empty flat and returns to an empty flat

I'm guessing others do same with their teens guess I just wanted to see if it was the 'norm' or not
