My DD has done very little but sleep so far! I thought she’d be out and about with friends every day but that isn’t the case. It’s going to be a loooong summer at this rate!

My DD had last week to sleep and loaf about. She has started a new part time job today and has another shift and a college taster day next week. She has the NCS course for 5 days and we will take some time off for days out but not going away this year.
Otherwise I am leaving her to enjoy the rest I know college will be plenty of work.
Could your DD find a job locally just part time? I don't think 10 weeks without any structure is that good for mental health just from my experience.
She might just need a week or 2 to rest and then will be off with her mates.

Trying to find a job. She's not 16 yet so tricky.

My dd is job hunting, she wants to be busy working this summer but it's proving tricky to find appropriate job opportunities so far. Otherwise she may volunteer. Up to now she's been helping at home and relaxing.

I have twins who finished 10 days ago, last week there was trips to theme parks and shopping, and both have weekend jobs. This week one is camping with friends and the other chilling before 6th form induction and prom next week. I do feel it is normal they want to catch up with sleep and relax but also hang out with friends.

We have the same problem although she's found a cage that gives her a shift each week for cash in hand. Not ideal I know.

@SiouxsieSiouxStiletto

really frustrating yesterday - she was called back for an interview by Asda but because she had missed the call and we couldn't get back through to them for couple of hours (despite calling several times) they had filled all the interview slots and said sorry to late.

She has a few more applications in through indeed so we just need to keep fingers crossed.

DD will turn 16 mid-July but with a one week drama workshop and 2 weeks holiday after that there is no point in looking for a job. They wouldn't even take her to help with the library reading challenge.

She went on a Stand-up paddleboard camp with her Explorer Scout group, slept a lot, meets with friends. We have some things planned around her birthday.

She will start helping out at home a bit more as well.

Part time job, camping with friends, family holiday, explorer belt expedition, college days. She's my organised childish asked her what day she had free to meet family and she gave me three options over the whole of the summer weekends. Suspect it will be quite different when it's her younger brothers turn.
