Hi, I'm hoping someone can point me in the direction of a factual website aimed at late teens. My daughters friend is having lots of issues with her period. Her mum and doctor have both mentioned the contraceptive pill. She's not currently sexually active. She's been told by friends that the pill can cause infertility and she won't even consider it. I've told her I'll look into some info for her so she can have evidence based information. Also any other suggestions for how she can manage her incredibly heavy periods, dizziness etc. I've told her she probably needs to see a gp because she could be anaemic. She had a proper dizzy spell at mine today.

I had incredibly heavy periods and also horrendous PMS. The two best things for me have been taking a calcium supplement as advised by the PMS clinic at the local hospital and the Mirena Coil.

The NHS has some information here and I've just remembered that the GP told DD to take Ibruprofen 3 times a day for the week before her period starts. It has reduced the foie apparently Wink

Well pill issue aside has she been tested for a bleeding disorder? Would suggest that and asking for transexamic acid.

Have a look at the Sexwise website and contraceptivechoices.org
