Struggling with my rude teenager

im struggling with my 15 year old daughter and trying to work out if this is normal teenage behaviour or not!

she is very sociable and does ok at school. At home I’m really struggling with her. B the minute i ask her to do something she kicks off screaming and shouting and has just started telling me to shut up. Something that she knows she’s not allowed to do. If i mention doing revision or homework she goes complaining crazy telling me to keep out of it.

i find I’m constantly annoyed with her - she never apologises and just expects me to bend over backwards for her. I’m so sick of her.

how do i get it into her head she cannot behave like this?

Have you read Untangled by Lisa Damour? It's a great book and explains the stages they go through in adolescence very well and gives you some great tips to try.

When you say that you're "constantly annoyed with her", she will definitely pick up on this. My DD has been difficult lately so I decided to smile more at her, like every time I see her, talk to her am with her and do you know what? She's really responded well.

My 10 yr old has started doing this.

I'd say feel thankful you got another 5 years out of her!
