Devices all downstairs at 10pm in this household. If DS isn't ready for sleep at that point he can read but there's no phone or laptop.

I know that’s the solution - just seems a faff!
Just feel utterly sick and tired of screen time arguments, him wanting more time. Worrying about what they are seeing. It’s endless and exhausting!

One more minute should only work once per app then it’ll need the screen time passcode. Unless block at end of limit is not activated in which case it might as well not even be on.

I agree with no devices upstairs at night honestly, saves such a battle. I also have one who would app-hop all night if they could get away with it (ASD) and we’re always having to tweak things!

I have got block on end of limit on and you can seem to do it more than once.

it must be an Apple glitch surely!!!

Its bad sleep hygeine to have distracting devices in the room. Just have them all shut away at night.

Why is it a faff just to have the devices brought / left downstairs before bed? Seems like the easiest solution. Just put them somewhere secure. My parents used to turn the wifi off at night and I would just sneak down and switch it back on oops.

We’ve had to put in place devices downstairs at night policy. We’ve lapsed over the holidays though, given an inch etc! Back to it tonight and it will be a battle no doubt.

Just struggling with DS13 at the moment. I have screentime limits/downtime/screentime password set up so have just been leaving iPad and iPhone in his room overnight. BUT he can get ‘one more minute’ all Apps - theoretically he could do this all night!

My dc can only do one extra minute, but that applies to each app...

My solutions were to set downtime to come on half an hour earlier to take account of all the 'one more minutes' he wanted to do or to set the phone to come on later if he was using it until later. He soon stopped!

I have a question if anyone is able to help... my younger dc is able to change the passcode on his phone and adjust screen time. I have no idea how he is doing this and keep having to change it back and also have been removing the phone if this happens. But, how on Earth is he doing it?! Every time I've had a look on the phone, everything is set up as it should be and I can't work out how the passcode can be changed if he doesn't know the old code (he doesn't as I change it regularly to something obscure). 🤷‍♀️

I only ever use my own device for dealing with the codes.

I have removed the 'screen record' option as I had heard about that. I keep going back order the settings and all looks in order. I have also been on his phone and again, can't work out how the passcode is being changed that way! Haven't had this problem at all with older child and am really confused by what is going on!

Hi Wineninja123. I know exactly what you mean. The one minute hack is annoying and can be used indefinitely for any app really. I know how to disable this. Please message me if still needed.
