Car Insurance After Accident/Claim

DS2 (17) had an electric motorbike for college and was knocked off by a car driver in April. Looks like it's going to be a 50/50 claim even though in our opinion the car driver is 100% at fault. All evidence relating to the damage to her car, his bike and his broken big toe back this up and it's hard to accept that we're going to have concede.

Trying to get him into a car asap but cannot seem to get him insurance. Have tried an insurance comparison website, and 2 young driver companies but because of the previous claim he's not insurable.

I'll try to speak to a broker on Monday. But I just wondered if anyone else has been in this position?

TIA

Essentially it is highly highly unlikely he will get any insurance.

how long did he have his license?

Her wing mirror was taped up with gaffer tape and had come off in the accident. The damage to both vehicles and his foot confirms that she drove into him. Had he ridden into her (as she stated) the damage would have been to the front of his bike, not the side. The damage to her car would have been to the front of her car, not the side. And he would have been knocked onto his right side. As it was, his left toe was broken because she drove into it, then knocked him onto his right side. We didn't need to be there.

So you’re saying the claims handlers from two different insurers are wrong and you, not there and a parent, are correct?

Either way, irrelevant.

he won’t get insurance

Yes you are correct. There is a flaw in our insurance system for sure.

Thank for your responses and have a fabulous day 😂
