What do people use/ recommend?
I’ve been using Apple screen time limits for the past year, but it seems to not work for the most important app- that is Snapchat!
Any other things I could use? Have people got experience with Qustodio?

Dep on age of Apple if you go in settings . Screentime you can time limit and choose which apps are available to limit

hedgehogger1 · 03/04/2022 13:15

Qustodio is what I use for my kids

hedgehogger1 · 03/04/2022 13:16

Mine don't have Snapchat though so can't help you there. Think they do a free trial

settings
screen-time
choose device ( or person)
always allowed , remove apps that you don't want to always be on . ( incl Snapchat )
set screentime

You can also limit times spent on apps daily incl social

I limit Snapchat on my daughters iPhone as mumofblu has shared above.

I used Qustodio when my teens had android however it really messed things up when they got iphones. I just use the parent controls on our iphones now.

Hi, what do you mean by it seems to not works for Snapchat?
We have android devices and I use both FamilyLink (free standard android parental control) and SafeLagoon (for a fee), but I don't know if they work on apple devices. For sure FamilyLink doesn't work and for what I know SafeLagoon has less features on iphone. I used Qustodio before but it was not working properly after an update.
The best feature of SafeLagoon is the screen capture, it takes screenshot every few seconds when my daughter uses any app and I can see the captures by my devices. I know it's invasive but to me it's just the only way to be totally sure everything is good, even if something is deleted on her phone I can still see it. I know OurPact has this feature too and, I've just checked, it works on apple devices too.
Anyway, are you sure your daughter didn't hack the Snapchat app? It seems very strange for all the rest it is working but just for only that, the most important one, it doesn't Hmm.
I don't know how iphone works but on android going in the Settings you can control (hack) everything on your phone, if it's the same on iphone you should block her access to the phone settings too. The same, if she can install whatever app she can install hacking apps too, the parental control should let new apps installation only after you received the notification for parental approval on your phone.
If nothing works and it is leading to big problems, honestly, just remove Snapchat by her phone.
