Our DS (15) had some food , listened to music all happy etc. Then he came downstairs in his hoodie and he just walked out. Not a word, nothing. It's pitch dark now and can see his on Google maps walking alone though the park! Told him so many times it's not safe. Why ???

@fizzypop100

It's not safe to be alone in a park at night. If this was someone's daughter would the reaction be different?
Why is it not safe to be in the park, perfectly safe round here.
BluebellsGreenbells · 08/03/2022 22:41

At that age DS would go hunt Pokémon, or play football, meet a friend.

Not sure what the issue is?

He's gone alone. This is something he used to do. It's not safe to be in the park alone at night
6.50 isn't "at night".

I used to be out until 9-10pm at that age.

Why wouldn't it be safe? Confused

You seem to be a bit OTT here... is there some backstop we dont know about to explain why you have extra worries about him??
If not then this is quite invasive and you will end up pushing him away. He's 15... not 5. He's gone for a walk in a park at 6.30pm... theres literally NOTHING wrong with that imo.
Unless hes out really late I honestly do not see what the problem is here? I do also think its odd that you are tracking him... its a bit invasive...
I used to wander about down by the river in the evening as a teen just walking and thinking... thats fairly normal teenage behaviour.

Unless you live in an extreme crime hotspot, or Ukraine, I can’t see what the issue is either.

ImWithMuriel · 08/03/2022 23:48

Hope he's back OP.

A walk in the park in the early evening?

No. Way.

Who do you think will play him in the film?

Calandor · 09/03/2022 07:21

If you'd said 11pm I'd say you had a point but before 7pm? Thousands of people walk to and from work at that time, pick up kids from the childminder, go to the gym.

You're being extremely anxious for no reason. He's 15. Next year he could legally move out!

Hope he got home ok Op.
