NYE parties and kids

My friends are having a party ( assuming no lockdown ) . In years gone by all the kids came too. This year my daughter doesn't want to go - she won't have anyone there to hang out with her age so it will be a rubbish night for her. Plus some of older kids going have been pretty mean to her and don't include her. I'm get it - so I am absolutely fine we with making an evening of fun for us at home - I'm meeting friends during the day anyway. My DH resolutely thinks that she should just lump it and go the party - because we ll be missing out otherwise. I suggested we invite a few friends here that have kids same age - but he doesn't want to spend the evening with them - preferring the mates at the party. She s 13. Thoughts ?

Tell DH to go to the party & you stay home with DD, let him decide if he wants to go. I don't think its fair to make DD go if she will be uncomfortable and if it was me I wouldn't be able to enjoy myself either knowing DD wasn't having fun

Thx - I think I'm just disappointed that it's me being the responsible caring parent while he goes - oh great I ll party then. No point us both missing out. I'm trying not feel like a martyr and instead see it as a great opportunity to make special
Memories with my daughter. Might do a spa night or something !

OP this happens to me too and agree that if my two aren’t having fun then I’m not either so I’d rather stay home with them and let DH go alone if he wants to. I enjoy my children’s company and time will come soon enough when they’re at parties and don’t want to spend NYE with me. I’ll lap up the Wizarding World film marathon in my pjs and being in bed at 12.30am for now!
