DS (12) suddenly taking lots of baths ...

DS has never taken a bath or changed his underwear unless physically coerced. But for the last week he's taken a bath every day! Not a girl, I don't think - he's at an all-boys' school, and anyway they've now broken up for Xmas. I have sniffed around his clothes for cigarette smoke or cannabis (as if I would recognize that...) but no sign. Not that I'm complaining, you understand, but I do wonder what's behind it. Is it simply that he's found something to play with in the bath besides his rubber duck?

Maybe someone at school has told him that he smells?

mumblechum · 17/12/2007 12:28

Do you want to swap?

Ds (13) only has a shower twice a week and that's under duress

fizzbuzz · 17/12/2007 20:37

Mine is 14, has to be forced in

Perhaps he has had a brain transplant? Can think of no other reason why my ds would choose to have a bath every night

Next will be the Lynx obsession, after which you will wish he suddenly wasn't interested in his personal hygiene. Lynx is one of the worst things about having a teenage boy!

wrinklytum · 17/12/2007 20:50

Hmm,are you sure it's not A Girl??

I vividly remember DBs slovenly habits going out the window when he discovered Girls

RTKangaSANTAMummy · 17/12/2007 20:50

What happens when you ask him?

DS {12} has a shower each day - cos otherwise he doesn't get brekkie {in other words he has to be showered/dressed etc esp on school days before brekkie}

pantoinghousewife · 17/12/2007 20:51

If it was cigarettes you would smell it.

gorgeousfeebie · 20/12/2007 16:23

My DS (13) as a bath every day but sometimes also has a shower!!!!!!!! so 2 a day then a can of lynx plus lynx shower gel........Girls maybe but dont think so as always busy either playing football or going to watch his fave team. Been like this since he was 11.

But then DS2(10) has to be forced to wash...

Maybe just taking care of his appearance?

DaisyMoo · 20/12/2007 16:43

Perhaps it's not A Girl but A Boy?

gorgeousfeebie · 20/12/2007 17:00

Mmmm that might be my next thread

Zealot · 20/12/2007 17:02

lol my vote would be for the wanking. my wee brother was never out of the loo at that age, bless him.

Zealot · 20/12/2007 17:03

but only the loo with the lock on the door, now that i come to think of it...

TheAccidentalParent · 03/01/2008 22:47

Sorry, but agree with Zealot, that was what first crossed my mind!

lilolilmanchester · 05/01/2008 00:00

He's either noticed that he's got BO (or someone else has told him)and/or he's found a new bath toy and/or a girl (they find them, even at boys' schools!) . All perfectly normal and better than one that won't wash IMO!

madamez · 05/01/2008 00:04

He's either aiming to go on the pull or he's, er, got something to pull. Bless.

gigglewitch · 05/01/2008 00:08

LOL madamez. my thoughts entirely, but you put it so much better

amytheearwaxbanisher · 05/01/2008 00:14

well said madamez
