I've read Untangled which is really good however DD is being utterly vile unless she actually wants something.

Is Get Out if My Life any good or would you recommend a different one?

How old is your daughter?
I really liked Untangled - I bought it a few years ago and I’ve enjoyed articles and podcasts from the author too. However, at points I found it hard to relate as my daughter felt ‘unreachable’ to be able to apply any of my new understanding!
‘Get out of my life’ is great, although at times it does convey the impression that it’s all inevitable and you just have to wait for the storm to pass.
I bought loads of books around the time my DD was 14 and life fell off a cliff. These two were definitely the best.
Big handhold for you - it really is awful. We went through the mill. It then got better and it is horrible again now she is 17.

How old is your daughter? 14.

When you read the threads in this section she may not be that bad, no staying our or drink/drugs or boys but god, her attitude!

Perhaps I should just read Untangled again and listen to some of the podcasts.

Thanks for replying Thanks

I didn't like 'Get out of my life' much. Can't recall why? But I really liked How to talk so teens listen. I have used lots of techniques from that book and I feel they helped to save our relationship.

Thanks Summer.

She's actually been a bit better during the second half of the week and talked to us for about 5 minutes in total.
