nannying a teenager?

I've just had an interview with a family for a nanny post for a two year old girl and a thirteen year old boy. Any parents of teenaged boys, how would you want a nanny/carer to be around your child? any tips?

make sur i know where he is at all times and who he is with and that he is contactable and check up on him becuase he is probably lying.
tidy room
do homework
do chores.

Let's get real, even the most molly-coddled (not sure how to spell it) 13 year old does not need a nanny. The nanny is there for the two year old child. I would want the nanny to be a person who the 13 year old can: "check in with", leave messages e.g. I've gone to the (where-ever) with my mates. But I think I'm quite a down-to-earth mum. Are the parents American?... if so, whole different ball game.

parents- not sure nationality but clearly good level of english so probably born/grew up here, def not american. after posting this, I was offered the job, told the boy really liked me although we never spoke, I have a good vibe! or maybe the fact I play GTA and other nonsense games.

I aupaired for a family with sons of eleven and seven and a girl of nine. With the eldest boy, it was mainly a case of putting food in front of him, reminding him about his chores and homework, and laughing at his (awful) jokes! It was good fun, teenage boys are really sweet.

yes he did seem quite sweet. its when they're in groups I worry!

as a mum of boys aged 14 and 12.5 (+ 2 younger dcs) - I'd just add that sometimes you might need to collect him from friends' houses/sports matches etc., if the parents think it's too late for him/not a safe area etc. we're in london and mine use combos of school bus/oyster card to get around, but there are times they need collecting from places.

Mine love to cook btw ! As an activity to share with a 2yo and a teen, there's nothing like baking the occasional cake, or you could sometimes supervise him making spag bol or similar.
