Possibly drug related. Can anyone help me identify this, please ?

Found in my teenagers room - a single capsule of lightish beige brown powder.

Before someone suggests it's a vitamin pill - it was with a weed grinder and an empty mini ziploc bag.

We have had lots of discussions about taking recreational drugs with said teen who describes us as 'out of touch' and swearing she would never touch anything other than weed and this is only occasionally.

I haven't told her I've found this yet as I'm so unsure where to go with it.

If it’s in a capsule it could be MDMA although depends how brown! MDMA is more a dirty white.

It wouldn’t be weed - doesn’t come in powder form and you wouldn’t take it but a capsule.

My advice is try to educate and support rather than bring down the iron fist!

Mdma is usually crystallised. Is it actual powder? I have had vitamins and supplements that fit that description, to be fair.

Tcould be a diet tablet, they are usually light brown in clear capsules

Speed is sometimes "bombed" in capsule form.

It couldn't be this stuff could it? Did a quick Google search, is it the powder from weed as you found a grinder with it?

On a serious note, I've worked in a job where I've handled a lot of drugs and helped testing them in a lab environment. I'm no expert but could be bath salts, PCP, heroin, meth, steroids, etc... Really hard to identify without testing.

I suspected it was MDMA but as I don't know what I'm looking for in spite of lots of googling , I thought I'd ask.

The whole situation has been devastating - watching a super bright teen I through this. I'm trying to keep calm and keep the conversations going but it scares me and I've ended up worried sick.

Was going to suggest this. It usually gathers at the bottom of the grinder. Can't remember what's it called though. I can't click the link from my mobile

Genuinely that just looks like one of my iron capsules. There's too much there for it to be a recreational drug - a capsule of MDMA or speed that big would kill you.

Rubbish picture but it's powdery rather than 'fine plant' like.

I could sit her down and ask but a) we are 5 weeks from finishing A levels and she is stressed out, touchy and will just storm out and b) I want to get my own head around this before acting.

Could be ketamine, apparently if its burned when cooked down from liquid it can turn beige.
Could also be speed (amphetamines). You wouldn’t know without a strip test (or outright honesty).

In all my innocence I was going to suggest it was Korean Jingseng or Maca powder but then I guess she doesn’t need to be worrying about menopausal hormones at this time.

Sorry it appeared while googling. I'd be mentioning it to her and saying it's one thing to have a smoke of a joint now and again, but when you start regularly buying it, grinding it, moving to pills....it's a slippery slope. Marijuana is known as a gateway drug for good reason.

As she's already told you she occasionally smokes weed then this would make sense too. Its probably to help her anxiety of her exams

Going by the size and colour I'd say it could be a diet pill or THC (cannabis) pill.
