Does everybody’s teenager have this attitude/reply no matter what the subject? Does lack of reply or discussion cause worry?

One of mine replies with "why?" as if whether or not they have enough masks for the week is info that is going to ruin their lives.

I get “riiiight” and if she feels she’s being lectured-“Did I ask though?”

Just chill, okay?

The phrase at the moment seems to be "it's calm, it's calm"

I love these. My teens are out of touch & say none of them.

This has made me laugh a lot. I have a 17 and 14, teenagers are my favourite age so far.

Wow I surprised you get a one word response I have 2 teen dd and all I get are looks and grunts or the occasional uurrrhhg it maddening try to decipher what they want or mean 😅

Dont worry about the lack of discussion OP. Teens physically can feel pain if they need to string together two sentences to their parents. It is in the job description of a being a teenager

As long they are engaged in life, school, friends and are happy and healthy, it's fine

Yeet is a catchphrase made famous by an (annoying ) You Tuber called Lazarbeam

Chill your beans has finally gone here as well. I still get "it's cool, it's chill..." and "pogchamps" and "it's not that deep".

Once DS2 came out with "Oh my God, calm your tits". Once.

I get "OK" so quickly that she can't even have time to think before she says it, well unless I'm asking her to actually do something then I get "That sounds like a you problem".

I just get "Yeah, I'll do it later" to everything.

The other one is "I don't know" when asked When do your exams start? What time are you working tomorrow? etc, etc

They then add. "I'll check later".

Apparently, I am "jarring".
