DD (13 years old) wants a nose piercing?

My 13 year old DD has been pestering me nonstop for a septum piercing, for detail, she's already dyed her hair bright red, has an ear piercing and wears very rebellious clothes. She's into very agressive and OTT makeup with lots of eyeliner. I never see any other teen in my local neighbourhood dressing like her, but she says she has! I just feel like she's too young to get a septum, I don't want her ruining her body, but she's been begging me nonstop, I feel like I'll end up giving in soon. Is how my DD dressing normal? Should I let her get a piercing at 13?

My DD had her septum pierced in the October half term last year. She was 15 1/2 and had been asking for it since she was about 14. Of course I said no way to start with (at 14) but after 18 months I thought she probably knew her own mind. I had to go with her as she was under 16. All the people waiting in the piercing shop were female with an average age of about 20. I was ancient in comparison! She is delighted with it and it has been no problem in terms of care etc. School appear to not care which I am amazed at tbh.

Go down the route of a fake silver septum ring for a while and see if she wears it. We did this. Don’t worry about the clothes - just let her wear what she wants.
