Ds went out earlier to see his bf. He's now texted from a town about an hour away to say he's lost his bike key, missed the train and wants me to pick him up from the next town first thing tomorrow first thing. I am not sure what is going on as he is not answering phone but there are still trains running.
His dad (we are not together) gave him money on his 18th and he immediately gave up his pt job. He is doing some school work but not much.
I am not sure how to approach it, I know he is an adult but I can't help worrying about him!

Pleased he is ok. I would worry and think it's quite normal for a parent to worry whether your child is an adult or not.

An 18-year-old in town he's never been to before? Do you think he might manage by the time he's 30?
I wouldn't be going to pick him up in the morning, though. If he's old enough to get into a scrape, he's old enough to get himself out of it.

However I've just had a text to say he's with another young chap he knows so I can get some sleep knowing he's safe

This makes no sense. Why are you happy now he is with another 'young chap' but were full of worries when you thought he was with his boyfriend?

She didn’t think he was with his bf. She didn’t know where he was.

Glad he is okay OP. Phew, kids hey!

Oh, I misread that. I thought he was with the boyfriend Blush
