Pregnant 16-year-old daughter

I have just come back from a hospital appointment for my daughter having discovered 2 weeks ago that she is pregnant. She couldn't remember the date of her last period but thought it was around 6-10th August, putting her at between 6-8 weeks pregnant. The scan this morning showed she is 10+2....we are both shocked, upset and worried about the difference this will make to her decision.

She is 100% sure that she wants a termination and I fully support that decision, however I would be grateful if someone could let me know what to expect. I know the experience is different for everybody but I'm not sure whether to try and encourage her to go down the surgical route rather than the medical route.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

You might get more responses posting in the Pregnancy Choices board. Best of luck supporting your daughter, you sound like a good mum x

Can you afford to get it done privately?
My friends daughter went nhs not so long ago and it took weeks to get an appointment through, which obviously affects which sort of procedure they do. I had surgical termination around that age which was straightforward and no regrets. Best wishes to you both x
