what to get soon to be 13 year old step daughter

Help!!
I have no a clue what to buy my 13 year old step daughter. She is very quiet around me and doesn't open up with me about what music she likes or any particular interests. She doesn't do sport and has no particular hobbies. She is soon to be 13 and I havent a clue what to buy a child of this age having no children of my own. Her dad is no help in this matter. What did you get your child for their 13th birthday ?

So far I have got her some cute white converse style Tommy hilfiger trainers and a little bracelet. I just wondered what young girls would actually like to get and what others have got their daughters? I would love some ideas of small things to bulk it up and some mid range stuff.

DD just turned 13. I think it is a difficult age as they already have so much.

DD got a baking subscription from Bakedin, earrings, bath bombs, decent headphones, pillows and blanket for her bed and books.

If she is into make up some good accessories, new brushes, spacious make up case maybe?

If nobody has it in your house, a Spotify subscription or Audible?

New bag, purse?

Normally clothes are good with her but at the moment shopping is not really ideal.

I took my 13 YO DSD to our local department store and booked her in for her make up to be done at The Benefit counter. I then treated her to £50 worth of cosmetics.

Obvs this was pre COVID.

I also once booked a 13 year old for a make over - it went down well.

I have been known to ask random teenagers in shops for help.

Urban decay make up used to be a winner, not sure if it still is.

Some sort of lesson / class / experience? A flying lesson?

For dd's 13th she got books, clothes (but ones she had requested), bath bombs, Amazon gift cards, earrings, stuff for her room (pinboard, photo frames, duvet cover etc) She would have had no interest in make up but they're all different! Would a gift card work?

DD also usually gets some chocolate and sweets as little extras, or some hot chocolate sachets with a nice mug? Also, if you can get to a New Look, they do lots of small "bits and bobs" for that age group.

Depends on budget but the Nintendo Switch lite seems to be the thing round here. Animal crossing

Are you on reasonable terms with her mum ? If so I would ask her. Some of the suggestions here my 12 year old would have zero interest in (make up etc). Or ask your step daughter yourself. "Anything special you would like for your birthday?".

Lush stuff and Benefit is still in with that age group

My DD's just turned 13. The Nintendo Switch was a bit hit as another poster mentioned Animal Crossing is very popular. We also brought them clothes and updated their bedrooms.

My 13yr old recently got a scetch pad and a selection of really nice pencils. She was over the moon. She is really into 'spa' treatments. I've started putting a basket together with bath stuff, face masks, scrubs & lotions.
