Period problems

My daughter is 13 and started her periods the week we started lockdown. She is now on her 4th period and she is feeling crap because no matter what pads she seems to use she’s leaking. Mainly at the back. But she’s going through several pairs of underwear a day and leggings etc. I’m glad she hasn’t been At school as it could have been really embarrassing. Has anyone any ideas what she can try?

My DD had a heavy long periods when they started so was put on tranexamic acid for first 6 month. It definitely helped. GP said that periods could be like this at the very beginning until they’ve settled and it’s true, by the end of first year DD’s periods became much lighter.
I usually wear second knickers to keep pad in position, it makes real difference. DD does the same. I’ve bought her black mini knickers from Primark, they are small enough so ok to double up.
