Dads and teen son clashes

Anyone else? It seems if dh says something ds (19) has to disagree, dh feels he's disagreeing on anything he says. It usually ends up a heated discussion, not arguing shouting levels but the tension rises. Usually dh will end up calmly walking away.
This was the boy who idolised his dad for years but when the later teenage years hit it seems constant battles.

I read somewhere that at a certain age the tennage boy asserts his male dominance squaring up to the man, his dad.

Just hope it's a 'phase'

My DS (14) is the same. He is really aggressive towards anything DH says. It makes me sad. DH can be irritating, but DS is just plain rude to him.

Oh dear, mine was fine until he hit 16/17 not rude as such but thinks he knows it all , they do clash over small things I noticed now...

Mine clash over everything! Ds is only 13 but I dread the next argument from them.
