14yo & 'going out' clothes

My 14yo is going to a local U15 disco for her friend's birthday in a couple of weeks. She's desperate to wear a 'boob tube' which obv shows top of chest, midriff & also a skirt, ruched which I KNOW darn well will be hoiked up. I've had chats about why these outfits are inappropriate, but she's continuing to show me Pretty Little Thing & Misguided websites (which are AWFUL). WWYD? I completely forbade it first time she went & she got changed at a friend's house into her friend's top. Needless to say it was a year before she got permission to go again....

@Snowflake9 my 14 yr old DD is a size 6 and is therefore in adult clothes sizes now. All her clothes are bought from “adult” shops, including Pretty Little Thing and Oh Polly for partywear.

OP, It is hard releasing control, I give you that. There are still certain things that I would not be happy for DD to wear (some of the dresses I have seen other girls wear to parties don’t leave a lot to the imagination and I think are in poor taste) but it is all about compromise. Your DD is now at an age where she wants to exercise free control over what she wears and all she wants is to wear the same as all of her friends to a party. If you continue to be so uncompromising all you will do is push her away and she won’t respect your opinion and will probably rebel. Be reasonable with her.

Am I the only one who listened to my parents and didn't take a change of clothes?

😂😂

Most 14 year old girls wear adult sizes and shop in the women’s section in clothes shops. The teen clothing ranges all have crop tops etc.
