Oh Dear its a hard life being a teen.

I asked my 15 year old today why he has not been in contact with many of his school pals over the hols and his reply was '' For the first 2 weeks I was far to busy''. When I asked him ''busy doing what'', his reply was......relaxing. Its a hard life really.

I've got one of them...he slept most of the holiday away and spent the rest of the time on the computer

Day in the life of a teenager in August....

2pm.. drag myself out of bed and stagger 5 steps across room to computer which has been downloading manga and crap whilst I've been sleeping.

3pm.. stagger across landing to bathroom and shower coz mum is gonna kick my arse and lose her temper soon.

4pm.. get out of shower, where I've just stood motionless under running water until it was all gone.

5pm.. Ask mum 'anything to eat?' Make toast and microwave popcorn. Take back to room to eat whilst on computer.

6pm.. Appear briefly in family area of house to take over telly to watch Simpsons.

7pm.. Ask mum if there gonna be dinner tonight. Eat. Retreat to room to compute again.

3 - 4am.. Fall asleep on keyboard.

5am.. Stagger across to bed and crash out.

Have you got my son living with you moon66 mines back at school tomrrow god only knows how hes going to drag himself out of bed at 7 in the morning! he said he would just stay up all night

ha mine too.

i asked him why he hasn't seen many friends and he said 'i talk to them all day on the computer'. amazingly he's up early today but only because he went to be so early last night. don't think he slept at all the night before.

Don't forget the lightening speed they can get up and ready when a friend rings to say 'Meet us in 10' and the hours it takes when you suggest school shoe shopping

i've just old mine to tidy his room. it's like ww3 with all the crashing about. i dread to think what he'll find. he wants me to help, which means he'll sit there chewing a piece of lego while staring into space.

Don't you just love um.

We have had many days where he has not got out of bed until around 1pm and then he expects lunch the second he appears because he is starving and has not had breakfast. 20 rounds of sandwiches later (no I am not joking) he is just about satisfied. Needless to say he has to make his own sandwiches. I have got through more loaves of bread, sliced meat and cucumbers these holidays than ever before.

He is now relzing again before going out.

Mine is exactly the same (well hopefully not the w@nking but I suppose its inevitable ) He has barely felt the sun on his face this holiday.

How did the exam results turn out themoon? It was yours who didn't do his coursework wasn't it?

I love him to bits really hes makes me laugh..but cant say I will miss him playing the entire My Chemical Romance album very loudly on his guitar when hes back at school

Saggers... he did well in exams. He did badly in the ones he didnt get course work in for.

I revived the original thread to thank all the MNers who supported me and came up with suggestions for his essays etc.

Sorry I know you don't know who I am but I wanted to say Well Done to your son for his excellent GCSE results. I read your old thread with much interest (the one you have put a link to on here) I so felt for you with all the pre exam stress. Just thrilled the results were so good. I can only hope we have the same (the results, not the run up lol) My son does his GCSE's next year and already I am worrying so god knows what you went through with it all. It must be a very stressful time for everyone and I have to remember to not add to it with my desire for my son to do well.

Congratulations once again.

Mine's just got in from his friends. Me: "Good day dear?" Him "humphh". Made himself cheese on toast, made an effort at clearing it up, said about 2 words since. Don't ya love 'em?

Hey, at least if they're in their rooms all day they're not doing anything illegal, immoral or upsetting the neighbours. Actually scratch immoral. I'm not sure about that one.....
