tough school shoes for giant feet?

I have a 14 year old who plays footie in his size 9-10 school shoes every break. Clarks are out of the usual chunky ones, any other recommendations? And if I have to go up to men's shoes (gulp) any brands or models that will survive the battering?

I've found Treads to be great. They actually did last DS1 - Destroyer of Shoes, a whole school year.Xmas Shock

My destroyer of shoes is now wearing Dr Martens and they still look pristine despite him playing cricket/football/rugby in them.

When looking for shoes without the trademark yellow stitching, DH discovered that they do a 'service shoe' which doesn't have that and is cheaper - we got them from Protec

My son has bought parade shoes from the army surplus shop for the last few years, wears them for everything (though doesn't play football) very hardwearing

DM's all the way...they have lasted a year despite 12 y/o playing tag rugby at break and lunch!
