Teenager eating all the chocolate

Please help - I know it sounds flippant but I can’t leave any chocolate anywhere in the house or DS2 steals it. I have just discovered an empty box of chocolate chip cereal bars meant for packed lunches. There were 60 bars in there and he has eaten them all in a week.
DH used to buy a big bar of chocolate for us all to share at the weekend but more often than not, DS2 would sneakily eat it beforehand. A friend bought us a tub of celebrations at Easter and when we went to share it, they were all gone.
I have asked him over and over why he does it but he just says he doesn’t know. I’ve suggested that we need to speak to “someone” about it but not really sure where to start.
Any advice? (apart from not buying chocolate obviously which we have pretty much stopped except for those so cereal bars)

It seems that they may have trouble with self-control. In this case, there are ways to help such as practicing it. Self-control is a complicated thing but don’t give up on him because he may really need your help.

Don’t buy the stuff, it’s not compulsory!

I’ve got awful self control where it comes to chocolate most if the time - if it’s there I’ll generally eat it Blush luckily the kids like things like custard creams and jammy dodgers which I seem quite capable of ignoring.

I tend avoid multipacks or sharing boxes, or nice chocolate biscuits and tend to buy the odd chocolate bar when I really really really want one and then immediately eat it; is that an option for your household?

No idea how to help him with his self control sorry. Hmm
