My DD is going to Reading festival and I'm not sure how big her rucksack should be. She was hoping to borrow one but now we need to buy the new one. Do we go for 50 or 70l? Please tell me how big your DC rucksacks are. Also, do you have any tips for food? We've been away, just got back. Thank you!

Dd been last couple of years and this year has decided to take very little food as it’s not expensive to buy on site, plus there is a co-op very close. Will take a collapsible 5L water container to reduce having to trek to drinking taps.
Re the rucksack, bigger is better than having lots of extras to hand carry because they don’t fit in. Mine is taking a 4 wheel pull cart this year Confused due to bigger tent but also chunkier sleeping bag and pillows. It does get cold at night!

With D of E just finished the only snacks she is taking are a few Wayfarer packet meals.

Now just waiting for the results tomorrow before Reading!

My son has just set off to stay at friend’s house prior to reading tomorrow. He’s borrowed by 35L hiking bag. Just packed the bare necessities 1 pair of shorts, spare pair of shoes, t shirts, toiletries including sun cream, a water bottle and muesli bars. Also waiting for tomorrow’s results! Quite a day ahead.

That's so awful! Hope your DD is ok. Thanks for sharing that info. Can't wait for DD to come back even though she says that she's having a fantastic time.
