My dss 18 has just come out of a disastrous relationship, was cheated on and heartbroken but got over it. He is working in a restaurant in the channel islands for the summer and apparently has hooked up with a Thai girl of 28 who has just splt up with her HUSBAND, an islander. She told him that her husband could have her deported[a lie apparently] to Thailand and that she wants to come to England

Why can't he just have a series of casual relationships with holidaymakers?????

Feel really bad about suggesting tipping off immigration now.

Think your dss has to make his own mistakes. And when he's 70 is he really likely to look back on a teenage liason with a beautiful, older Thai woman with much regret, however he gets hurt now? I doubt it...

My 19 year old nephew went backpacking to Thailand last year and ended up living with a Thai girl until his visa ran out. He too got a job in a restaurant lol.

What is about Thai girls

zippit · 04/08/2007 11:48

cammelia I think it's about being a 19 year old

but on the other hand i do see a lot of middle aged men round here with thai girlfriends

Carmenere · 04/08/2007 12:18

Apparently she is married to an islander and she couldn't be deported but her visa isn't fully through yet. I don't think that she is after him for anything other than a bit of attention tbh, although the fact that she said she wanted to come to England with him 10 minutes after meeting him is a bit suspect.

I am actually more worried about him behaving like a prat, falling for her, squaring up to the ex, getting bashed, being broken hearted. He is NOT GOOD when it comes to romance. He has all sorts of issues with women because his mother has treated him like shit and totally rejected him.
His first serious relationship ended disastrously when he found out that the girl he thought he was in love with had blatantly two timed him and humiliated him with the details ect
I worry for his self esteem tbh. I just would love him to have a good, fun, normal relationship with a halfway decent girl and I am peeved that he has gone from the frying pan into the fire so-to-speak

What FACTS does you dss know? Does he know the address of this thai woman and her husband? Is the husband Thai? Has he seen her passport that he knows she is who she says she is?

I am only asking because a beautiful Thai woman (married to a norwegian man) has been reported missing here for the last two weeks. She and the passport is gone, but as she (or somebody in her name) has tried renewing her mobile phone subscription, she is assumably alive somewhere. I mean, what are the odds it is her? But it just made me think that he should, if he hasnt done so already try and get her story straight.

I see an old guy of about seventy with a much younger thai women near where I live. It always makes me think of the little britain sketch.

PotatoOfDoom · 05/08/2007 09:57

Yogimum.. that sums up about 70% of the pensioners here in Jersey!

Carmenere · 05/08/2007 10:06

Hi Starry, no she is friendly with the staff in the restaurant he works in, she is definitely married to a local man. Where are you atm? Are you in Norway?
