This is lighthearted but I am having one of those days with mine

DD1 is 16 and DD2 is 14.
DD1 has left school for the summer and has a job with a few hours a week. She is driving me bonkers

Today:
I worked from home. DD said she felt ill, so moped/slept all day. Whenever I asked her to do something she told me she was ‘clearing her room’ this has involved her putting into washing baskets and bags for life things she doesn’t want and then leaving them on the landing, for about 4 days now (tiny room). The bags have now been shoved under the stairs on top of the hoover, 4 of them which I don’t know what she expects will happen to them, am I to keep all her shit in cupboards now?

She’s been worrying about the carbon monoxide detector as she feels ill and it has an amber flashing light on it and in the manual it says it needs replacing, so I ring up my HA and they send out a gas man straight away and I have gone to pick DD2 up from school and I am not home. DD1 texts me 26 times about this gas man who is testing the boiler (she only had to open the door) demanding I come home immediately because she has messy hair and doesn’t want to speak to the guy

She has arranged to work tomorrow and needs a lift in the wrong direction to my own job at a later time than I start. She asked me to ask my boss if I can start late as she ‘doesn’t know how to get the bus’. I’ve sat with her and looked up the bus times and bus routes but she won’t get on it. So she’s then spent all day trying to connect her debit card to an Uber account, but couldn’t and this went on and on!

At around 6pm I had a migraine and went to bed for an hour after taking meds. I closed my bedroom door and DD came in/called me no less than 7 times because the dog was annoying her, she didn’t know what to make for dinner etc etc.

It’s now 10pm and knows perfectly well it’s time to be quiet. My dog has a tendency to bark at noise and I try to be quiet not to annoy the neighbours. What is DD doing? Shrieking at the TV. Cleaning her room. Clanking glasses together. Slamming windows closed. Stomping up and down the stairs

DD2 has a non uniform day on Friday. She wanted me to help her make rips in a brand new £15 pair of jeans and has now fallen asleep without brushing her teeth for the 3rd day in a row

My house is a tip and I am having a BBQ this weekend and have to work Saturday AM too
