Where to buy kitchen stuff for university?

Ikea is a trek for me...where is good to buy kitchen stuff for a self catering university student?

Argos do some cheap kitchen stuff

Give it a few weeks and Wilko's will be full of studenty stuff, crockery/storage/bedding etc. Get the holiday season out the way and that will be the next campaign I bet

I found Tesco much better than IKEA because you could get electricals like a toastie maker as well as bedding, towels and crockery.

Mega Tesco or Sainsbury’s. But try Freecycle as well.

Asda is good but I think Wilko is even slightly cheaper.

Although I have to say my DS, entering 3rd year, appears to have yet to use his scourers and washing up liquid ...

Wilkos. Order online and then go and collect in one go.
Also, remember they'll be sharing a kitchen and it won't fit 4 toasters/frying pans/dinner services etc so don't go overboard in the first instance. A Saturday morning shop once they are settled will garner more practical choices.

Home Bargains or B&M

Old stuff from home, we have their Gran's mismatched mugs and plates and bowls, cutlery that is not part of our service - it will get broken, lost, thrown out - would not go out and buy new for Uni - buy new for home...

Willis. Don't spend a fortune. Most will be broken or lost by the end of year 1

My daughter lives away from home.......I can't beat Asda. I've just done a.large order of towels, bedding etc and had it sent direct to her. The kitchen stuff is good prices as well.

We got pans and crockery from TKMaxx as they have quality brands at low prices.

Towels, tea towels etc we got from our enormous Tesco.

We waited until August and got most things from Asda. By then lots of things were half price, eg. good quality pans.

I love a good bargain and Asda was the best priced for quality products. I wanted them to last at least the three years!

Wilko is great for kitchen stuff, very reasonable. Primark very good for bedding and towels.

DD is planning charity shop purchases where possible but I know there will be some items we will buy new.

It's been that many years since I bought anything from a shop for my own kitchen I couldn't think where to go!

Poundland. It will sit encrusted with filth for days, be broken, stolen or lost! Buy the nice stuff when they move into their first proper home

Poundland home bargains or b&m are good options. She's very wise to try charity shops too. Totally agree on getting nice stuff for first home after uni

We have a mix so far - cutlery from my late mum's household, charity shop crockery, a couple of decent pans/dishes from ASDA. Will do bedding in the next couple of months, we already have a stock of towels. I just need to get her a decent garlic crusher, she does love her garlic.
