At what age would you leave you dc home after school

dd1 almost 15
dd2 12
ds1 4
All go to childminders after school still but the older girls say their too old now for a childminder.
I suppose i carried on because i wanted someone to see thay were home safe and they have a hot meal.
Its only 4-5pm but have said they can come home for that hour from Sept ?
Just wondered at what age other mums have let their dc be at home alone from.

I would let the older two, but would make the 4yo stay at the childminders rather than being cared for by his sisters, personally. But many would I imagine think a 15yo could look after a 4yo.

Your dds - I would, yes, but not your ds IMO. But then it depends how good your dds are at keeping an eye on him. I don't know the legalities of it though.

agree with greeny. I think a 15yo watching a 4yo occasionally (eg if your CM is on holiday) would be OK but not as a regular occurence.

Yes i`ll def leave ds at the childminders.

The older 2 will be fine at home on their own. Leave the 4 year old with the childminder.
