Present for 13yo girl - inspiration please

Hope this is the right place to post for advice. I need to apologise to a neighbours 13 year old daughter (long story) so I thought a pressie would be nice. I have no idea what would be cool at the moment so could anyone advise an appropriate gift? Hardly know her so I don#t know what she is into.

does she look gothy or girlie? i know this is a generalisation but may help you decide.

eg dont buy a gothy girl a pink spakly something and vice versa.

Stationery. Go to paperchase or similar and buy some funky notebooks. Or funky gel pens. Don't know why they all go a bundle on papery stuff, but they do, regardless of whether they're girly, gothy or tomboyish. Can't go wrong.
