Lovely DD in Yr 9. Kind, friendly, sociable but doesn't seem to have made friends in high school. She has a group that she hangs around with in school but is never included if they meet up outside of school. Any suggestions she makes to meet up are rebuffed.

She belongs to a sports club but doesn't seem to have made proper friends there.

Yes. My 13 year old DD in y8. She is very shy. Very focused on school and doing well I suppose. I just feel sad that she doesn't get included in get togethers outside school. She is on Easter break now her friends messaged her if she was free to meet up I said yes every day then she said they can't meet up now. it upsets me I think more than her. I hope so anyway. I'm hoping y9 will be better.

Yr10 DS suddenly has a social life, last 6m or so. He was ostracised in primary & rarely saw anyone out of school hours until now. Very strange! I would call dS a shy extrovert.

Just saying don't give up hope. Does your DD try to organise events, invite people or propose stuff to do to her buds?
