First time posting and very confused not sure if I am being too worried or not ! I am not a overly protective mum but I don’t really want my dd having a boyfriend yet but she has a major crush on her mates brother who is 2 yrs older then her. it seems innocent enough at the mo as they don’t actually hang out together but they snap all the time and now he is coming up to the stables and making sure she is there. I trust my daughter so when I have asked if he has asked for dodgy pics and she says no I do believe her and on the surface her seems to be a really nice boy. But it’s all so confusing to me and I am not sure if he his working up the courage to ask her out or genuinely just wants to be friends and if he does ask her out should I let her ! Is it too much of a age gap at her age ? Sorry for the long post

If you are worried that she is sending him nude pictures of herself then take her phone and look for yourself.

Should you let your 13 year old date a 16 year old? No. Not only for her sake but his too, in fact mainly for his, it’s not acceptable for someone of that age to be going around with a 13 year old.

What 16 year old boy is interested in a 13 year old anyway?!

When I was at school (many years ago!) my friends brother (16) dated a girl (13) in my class. They were really sensible kids, and they are still together - happily married with children, that was 1986 they started going out.

That’s good to know :) my dd is only a few weeks off being 14 and Is very mature in her attitude and the way she looks and I don’t mean she dresses older or wears loads of makeup she has always hung around with older people ( because she competes nationally with ponies) so finds people her own age immature:( which is a shame in some ways.
