Is my teenage dd depressed

I’m looking for advice please. My dd is 14, in the last couple of weeks has started sleeping more than usual and has lost her appetite. She did have a bad bout of flu 2 weeks ago so I initially put it down to that. My mum died in September my dd was very close to her but hasn’t shown any signs of grief. She has always been moody since her preteens but now she seems miserable all the time even her friends call her The Mood and says that she hates most people in school. I’ve tried talking to her but this seems to make her worse. She went to Cahms a couple of years ago they said she was ok and the waiting time for another appointment is months. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Many thanks

How is she now Cheerup?

Is she eating more? Can I ask why she was referred to CAHMS originally?

Sorry to hear of your worries OP. Although this seems quite normal to an extent due to the flu and the after effects of her grandma's death( my DD 16yr lost her grandma in August and only just opened up about her grief in December), if she is actually miserable ALL the time then that's not so normal. Also ask yourself how much does this mood effect her basic day to day activites eg washing, dressing, school work, socialising around the family, helping with chores etc etc.

Has the doctor seen her form a physical point of view eg. blood tests and advice on any hormonal changes (is she menstruating yet?)
Does she get some fresh air and exercise and have any hobbies/interests? Does she chat to you and open up at all about anything that might be upsetting her?

I didn't want to just any 'yes' or 'no' because I don't think it's helpful for anyone to diagnose on here with only snippets of information.

Hope that helps, basically I would certainly seek help from the GP and school if need be and the more information you have the better.
