DD1 told me my attempt at daring to talk with her about what extra curricular activities she wants to do (after she complained about how booooooring her life is) was waaaaaaayyy too cringey and disappeared upstairs.

Well, last night, but 24 hours. My dd, home from uni (OMG, I'M 19) went to Nye party, still no sign the following night, bombarded her with messages and calls, no answer. Finally answered at 11. This was unbelievably cringey.

I don't think anything but it just transpires that DS didn't know what 'cringe' meant, started googling it but then stopped because his cat wanted a flat bit of sofa throw which was clearly more important than learning new words.

He's looked it up now. He says nothing. I'm pretty laid back, I don't think I make him cringe.

Ds came into the lounge to ask what time we were heading out to town.
He's grown a lot recently so needed trainers for PE, tracksuit bottoms and some t shirts etc.
I asked him if he wanted new boxers as his are quite old now and would probably prefer a more grown up style.

Followed by "grrrrrr Mum you're soooooo embarrassing"

Not because I asked him about needing boxers but because he had Skype open to his friend in Denmark who listened to the whole conversation.

I suggested that in future if he invites people into the house either physically or virtually he tells me about it so I can tailor my conversation for the audience BlushGrin

I asked what the slogan meant on the t shirt I bought her for Christmas.

Apparently this was intrusive and interfering.

DH & I going to see Star Wars with the 2 teen DSs last night was apparently 'cringeworthy' as NOBODY goes to the cinema with their parents.... however they agreed as I said if they went on their own they'd have to pay for themselves.

We arrived at the cinema and saw 3 of their friends from school....
ALL with their families too Grin
