(Sorry if post duplicated - original seems to have evaporated).

Daughter (14) desperate for blue hair over summer. I allowed (although I think it looks awful, but that's beside the point) on proviso that she stopped dying it mid August to allow a few weeks for it to wash out before school. She used non-permanent 6-10 wash-out (brand is Colour Freedom).

It's still looking rather blue :-0 with not long before school starts.

Have I made a terrible mistake?...her hair is naturally very blond...Will it be permanently stained?....she looks like a surf at the moment.

Google's come up with a product called Colour B4 which I might invest in (£10!!!)...

I dye my hair at least seven colors at a time, and yup- blue is a bastard. I usually avoid buying any conditioner etc wirh citrus products in them as they fade color fast. Don't know how much that helps...

Just a quick update that I didn't get a chance to do last night....

So DD took herself off to the appointment with the hairdresser as I was at work. Her hair was still blue/green at this point.

Was a complete success, 100% blonde again ;-)

Phew. Apparently there were six other girls that went in today with hair like hers and they went into isolation, so was a close call.

Thank goodness for that!

DS said that there's a boy in his school with khaki green hair. It was blue and he put brown on to cover it. Result = green Sad

Sorry I haven't checked back in, a busy week not much time for MN.
Great to hear her hair is back to blonde!
If anyone else happens to be landed in this situation - as a last resort you can tone tints out with the opposite in the colour chart e.g. use red on green, blue on orange etc. A teeny tiny bit of red (or blue/purple/etc.) hair dye mixed with a cup or so of conditioner put on wet hair after shampooing will take it down to a more neutral colour if you can't fit an appointment in straight away.
Sorry about the hair rambling, glad you ended up with a good result!
