DD 15, lack of confidence

DD has spoken to me about her lack of friends. She is quiet like her Dad. I've tried to reassure her, but it is starting to worry her. She is beginning to experiment with make-up and take more interest in her looks and clothes which as she was/is a tom-boy came as a surprise to me.

Is this all normal 15 year old angst?

It's easier to make friends when engaged in doing something together. Get a job somewhere a lot of teens work? Lifeguard, teen clothing stores, camp counselor, fast food restaurants, etc.
