Amazing friend is taking ds to Truck with her son. She's not planning to cook something he will need money for all his meals plus a bit of spending - maybe a tshirt?

I'm pretty much a festival virgin - what would you budget? The lads are 13.

Most food at festivals is about £7-£8 a serving. Its mostly street food type stuff, where you get something basic for £6ish then you can add stuff to it for more cash (adding cheese and bacon to a burger for example). A coffee is £2-£3, a pint £4/£5, water freely available, softs around £3, more for red bull.

I'd say a generous budget of £40 per full day would give him enough to be able to feed and water himself, maybe buy a drink for his hosts and possibly get a souvenir.

So if its Fri lunchtime to Mon lunchtime maybe £120ish? Festies aren't cheap but you can get some really good quality food for that money, loads of nice fresh stuff and loads of variety.

If u want to cut down send him with heat proof snacks, a few bottles of Lucozade etc. Babywipes essential. Also a waterproof, decent walking boots better than wellies. Its £6 an hour to charge your phone so if he has a chargebank thing they are really useful.

Make him aware that some festies charge £1 for a plastic cup which u take back to the bar to get your money back or a refill. Don't chuck these in the bins.
