Does anyone else have this problem? Dd (14) sits in her room watching Netflix while she has her ipad on connected via Facetime with a friend and their not even talking??? Sometimes they're just sitting there while the other one is walking around the house. Its like an episode of big brother. Minus the language thankfully. I find it really wierd, Said to Dd to turn it off as they're not even chatting which of course was met with an obligatory sulk/moan. U just dont understand. Shes right i dont get it! Does anyone else find this really odd, or is it just me??

My ds was sharing a house with a girl at university. Few others in house. When they sat down to eat together as they often did she was facetiming her boyfriend in another part of the country. They didnt speak but it was like he wanted to know what she was up to. Ds found it really weird.

Mine does this too. I can be talking to DD and suddenly a little voice pops out of nowhere and joins in conversation or says "Hi DD's mum" Welcome to 2017 and the world of teenagers... give it a few decades and we'll all just be inside a computer..

Yes, DD and her friends do this and it drives me crazy. It's especially annoying when I go into her room and start chatting, having a moan about her messy room or maybe half dressed out of the shower and don't realise I'm broadcasting live in someone else's house.
