It's right next to a Mcdonalds Wink

Davros · 01/05/2017 09:54

There's a Pizza Express in the road parallel to the South Bank and along the river there's Giraffe, Wagamama, Yo! I thought the nearest McDonald's was the other side of the Hungerford Bridge near to Charing Cross station but I could be wrong

Depends what day there is always Borough Market. Most the hot food there is good value

ActuallyThatsSUPREMECommander · 01/05/2017 09:58

Borough Market is a long way away, but if the street food market behind RFH is on then that makes a great picnic on a sunny day.

user1471477415 · 01/05/2017 09:59

Oh wait the Dungeon has moved to Southbank so maybe Southbank food market...it's on Friday to Sunday

ActuallyThatsSUPREMECommander · 01/05/2017 10:00

This thread is a classic example of the fact that Londoners can never remember that the Dungeons have moved. Because you're a Londoner you never go to the big tourist traps, and we're so used to it being at London Bridge that it takes us ages to remember that it's moved - if we ever knew.

Davros · 01/05/2017 12:12

Well I remembered and I'm a Londoner

SuperFlyHigh · 01/05/2017 12:17

If the Dungeon is in Southbank, not far away is Coin Street which has a few shops and also some restaurants/cafes, one is called Studio 54 and has a mix of dishes, the other is a pizzeria I think and there are some others.

Otherwise there's a Giraffe, that Mexican place (Chimicanga?), and lots of others along Southbank. they do get very busy though especially on a weekend. There's also Taz chain of Morroccan style restaurants, they're all a similar price. There are lots of pizza express etc. walk a bit further down to Old/Young Vic and you have Wahaca, a market street that has lots of cafes/restaurants etc. I'd hunt out voucher deals if you want to save beforehand unless kids fine with McDs.

Lj8893 · 01/05/2017 12:20

There's loads of food places along the south bank, quite often street food type places too if the weathers good.

Lj8893 · 01/05/2017 12:21

Maybe I've just never noticed but I didn't think there was a McDonald's that near by?

SuperFlyHigh · 01/05/2017 12:23

Just did a quick search, there's Cubana popular with kids/teens near Waterloo station, a Wagamama and as Lj8893 says there are often street food places (with seating) if the weather is good (don't forget cash though).

stonecircle · 01/05/2017 12:24

Walk along the river to City Hall. Their cafe is open to the public for weekday lunch - cheap and good selection. Lovely building, lovely location and next to the cafe they have a room with an enormous scale map of London on the floor.

SuperFlyHigh · 01/05/2017 12:24

Lj there's one in county hall and one in Waterloo station.

They're not too busy surprisingly or their serve rate is fast from what I recall.

SuperFlyHigh · 01/05/2017 12:26

Oh OP, I will link, but apparently if you have time and the teens are into Vans, there's a Vans exhibition/place thing on Southbank.

SuperFlyHigh · 01/05/2017 12:27

www.southbanklondon.com/house-of-vans

Lj8893 · 01/05/2017 12:27

Never even realised there is one in county hall Blush and didnt think about Waterloo. God they really are everywhere!

SuperFlyHigh · 01/05/2017 12:27

Sheesh here's me thinking the kids are teens... Blush.

SuperFlyHigh · 01/05/2017 12:28

Lj I used to work near there but when I meet friends with kids (London eye etc) they almost always kids beg for a McFlurry at very least...

IGotABigMouthClive · 01/05/2017 21:41

There's a Pret there too.

IGotABigMouthClive · 01/05/2017 21:41

(At County Hall I mean)

Allthebestnamesareused · 08/05/2017 17:41

Literally just round the corner there's an All Bar One too. Just in the "square" by the London Eye. It's always been fairly quiet when we have been there too even in school holidays.
