15 year old girl laptop boundaries help needed!

We are giving my daughter a laptop for her birthday - what boundaries should we set? She wants it to live in her bedroom and us to trust her not to use it after 8.30pm. She already has trouble focussing on homework; I want to be allowed to see what she is accessing. Her phone has a 'bedtime' of 8.30 and gets charged overnight downstairs. Should we have a written contract? What is reasonable (but firm) parenting?! She has Aspergers.

Keep it simple same rule as the phone 8:30 downstairs for the laptop too. Do you already see what she does on her phone? I think kids tend to access more questionable material through their phones than through their computers. So I think, if you are worried, you should probably check her phone instead of her laptop.

Same rule as the phone would be my suggestion. They can access the same social media sites on their laptop as they can on the phone, so it wouldn't seem logical to have a different rule imo

Not sure why you'd need a 'written contract', but, if the phone rule works for your household, then it would seem sensible to make the laptop the same rule.
