Hi first time posting.
I have a very soon to be 16 year old daughter. 16 in 3 days. She has just walked in from being In town with her friends. And has just said. I'm going to say this now because I know your going to smell it on me anyway. I've tried weed today!!!!
Shocked is a understatement. Have told her that we will have a chat when the little ears have gone to bed. I don't even know where to begin with it.

I would be very proud of my child if they came to me and admitted that. Something you should probably stress, she's shown a level of maturity that I certainly didn't have at that age.

If she is into sports and progressing another thing she needs to keep in mind is that she will be getting close to the stage of drugs testing. A friends DC at the age of 17 has to keep clear of poppy seeds and all sorts of things because at that age once you get to a certain level (not just Olympic athletes, all standards up) there is a chance of drug testing. To continue could get her a few years ban from competing at ALL sports. Let her know the risks she is balancing for something that is nice-ish. she can always try it again when she is old and it doesn't matter so much
